Migration Songs

Migration Songs is a collaboration of poems and scientific text or photos when eleven contemporary poets were paired with an ornithologist or scientist to consider and write about various birds. This chapbook was produced for the 27th International Ornithological Congress in Vancouver, British Columbia, August 19–26, 2018.

The cover art is “Magpie”, a painting by poet, painter, and weaver, annie ross.

The poets involved include well-known west-coast authors, amongst them Governor General’s Award and Griffin Poetry Prize winners. Poets and collaborators are:

The text is designed and typeset in Times New Roman, Optima, & Zapfino. The binding is hand sewn with linen thread.
