“In 2004 I was commissioned to make a book for someone who was exhibiting a doll in a show and wanted the doll to be holding a book. The project evolved into something special when I asked her if she wanted anything on the book’s pages. “Oh, I was just going to pencil in a poem,” she said. I offered to take it a little further, putting in several of the poems I loved as a child. Child-Heart was the result.”
